when the message sent isn't the message received

Misuderstandings do really happen too often. Where we try to communicate with someone but the messaged that was interptreted was way far from what you've said. And I understand that these such circumstances occur as there are many barriers that coud affect the way people interpret the message. With this, it sometimes leads to confusion and sometimes even a quarrel. And so, I believe that it is important to be a little more kind and to be a little more understanding with the people we try to communicate with. Try to be a little more patient as mix ups isn't something that we can all prevent. It is fime to make mistakes, to have errors. We all just have to clarify it a little more and all will be fine.
